Jesse Gray

PhD MAS – Alumni

Jesse received an undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science from Tufts University, received his Media Arts and Sciences S.M. degree in 2004, and is currently doctoral student at the MIT Media Lab. Recent projects include creating a system for playing computer graphics style animations on a robot, teaching a robot to imitate human facial expressions through a biologically inspired mimicry interaction, and inferring goals from observing behavior. Jesse is currently working towards generalizing and extending his simulation theoretic approach to infer a human partner’s goals, beliefs, affective appraisal, and other mental states.
