Kris (KDS) Dos Santos grew up in South Florida, and shipped up to Boston to pursue a S.B. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He researched with the Personal Robots Group as an undergraduate, working on such projects as the Huggable, MeBot, and other smaller collaborations. He also did his bachelor's thesis with the lab, which explored the use of various sensing technologies in creating a new type of virtual character controller.
He is currently pursuing a masters degree at the MIT Media Laboratory in the Personal Robots Group. His interest is in the various applications of robotics, particularly in the home and for use in education. He also wishes to explore control of virtual characters using custom peripherals.
