Josh Strickon

Ph.D student in MAS – Alumni

Josh officially works for Tod Machover and the Hyperinstruments group at the MIT Media Lab, but spends quite a lot of time working with the Robotics Life group. He has worked extensively in the area of interactive music installations such as the Brain Opera and the House of Music. He is the creator of such novel projects as the Musical Jacket, Musical Playdough, Musical Webcrawler and the world’s first networked musical application for the SEGA Dreamcast. He developed a Scanning Laser Rangefinder with Joe Paradiso for his Master’s thesis. His doctoral work focuses on creating development tools for building large-scale interactive, location-based entertainment experiences.
